The Airfryer is a true revolution in the kitchen, bringing practicality and the pleasure of crispy food without excess oil.

However, not all foods are suitable for this device.

Placing the wrong items in the Airfryer can result in bad textures, unpleasant odors and even damage the equipment.

6 foods you should NEVER put in the Airfryer (cheese is one of them)

1. Rice

Although you will even find people suggesting making rice in the Airfryer, the truth is that it is not a good idea.

The rice becomes dry and soggy because it is not the ideal appliance for boiling and steaming. Furthermore, it is difficult to cook rice evenly.

The Airfryer does not have the ability to cook rice like a traditional pot or slow cooker. So, it’s better to leave this food to traditional methods.

2. Popcorn

You know that warm popcorn you love to make in the microwave? Well, in the Airfryer, it might not be that good.

The problem is that popcorn tends to burn around the edges and doesn’t always pop evenly.

This happens because the appliance’s hot air circulation does not reach an ideal temperature for popping the grains.

3. Dried vegetables

Dried vegetables, like lettuce and spinach, are super healthy, but when you put them in the Airfryer, they tend to burn too quickly, without losing the moisture that makes them tasty.

What could be a good crunchy salad ends up becoming a mess that doesn’t please the taste so much.

4. Pasta

Similar to rice, noodles do not cook properly in the fryer, leaving them dry and with an unpleasant texture.

Not to mention that it ends up sticking, which can cause a mess in the basket.

5. Cheese

Adding cheese to the Airfryer may even work in some recipes, but you need to be very careful.

Cheeses like mozzarella, cheddar and other creamier types run the risk of melting excessively and spreading around the basket, creating a mess that’s difficult to clean up.

In other words, if you don’t want to lose the practicality of the device, avoid melting cheese directly in it.

6. Toast

Who doesn’t love crunchy toast? However, placing slices of bread in the Airfryer may not give you the results you expect.

This is because they can end up burning quickly on the outside and becoming soft on the inside, which is not pleasant at all.
