A warm-hearted emigrant
It is said that seafarers brought the first marigold to Europe in 1570. Although its homeland is distant Asia, Africa or Indonesia, it has already taken root on the “old continent” over the centuries. He has even acclimatized so well that he doesn’t mind mild temperatures around 20-25°C. In colder weather, it usually stops growing and dies… Therefore, if you have this “handsome” in your garden, move it indoors during rainy or cold weather.
A symbol of courage
Nevadlec is not particularly demanding to grow. It is planted in the second half of March and the only thing it claims is a sunny site that is protected from strong winds. The plant tolerates drier soil that is rich in humus.
If you give it care and love, it will reward you with a beautiful array of colors… And not only that. This fiery flower in flower language symbolizes courage, therefore it is also a suitable gift for everyone who needs support. Therefore, do not forget to include it in one of the autumn pugets! And the good news is that the falcon can keep its beauty for a long time. It is also suitable for dry ties.
Relief for the body
In the case of the non-defective, however, these are not empty words. Even the scientists themselves prove its effectiveness. A study by Indonesian researchers found that Celosia argentea flowers have many beneficial effects on health. They are anti-inflammatory, but also reduce the risk of diabetes, slow down aging, support immunity and prevent the formation of infections. Therefore, they are also used in the treatment of bleeding anus, dysentery or diarrhea. The seeds of the plant are an exceptional remedy for eye diseases. It is said to cure blurred vision or cataracts. To make matters worse, Celosia argentea leaves are used as natural plasters for ulcers, wounds and skin rashes.
Side dish and part of the menu
But lest we forget, there is one more variety of celosia – Celosia trigyna, which has its admirers especially in Africa. Locals add it to soups, mixes and sauces. And no wonder, it has medicinal effects. It is said to relieve chest pains, prevent ulcers and menstrual cramps. The leaves of this plant are applied to a painful part of the body (for example, chest, stomach) as a healing poultice… Look what a treasure you have in your garden! And if the marigold is not blooming yet, be sure to get it next year. It’s worth it!
