According to the Ministry of Agriculture, slaughterhouses in São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Goiás and Rio de Janeiro were enabled.
South Africa has authorized 19 new Brazilian slaughterhouses to export meat to the country, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement. According to the ministry, the list includes eight beef plants, five pork plants, 13 poultry meat plants and two horse meat plants. With the new authorized batch, Brazil has a total of 28 establishments authorized to export meat to South Africa.

Plant authorization is the process in which the importing country authorizes each Brazilian company to export a certain product, after approval from the national health authority that the establishments meet the requirements required for each market.

Until September, Brazil exported 7.103 million tons of meat, generating revenue of US$ 18.867 billion, according to data from Agrostat – a foreign trade statistics system for Brazilian agribusiness.
Of this amount, 275,489 tons of meat were shipped to South Africa, with revenue of US$ 171.650 million.
