Striker Mauro Icardi suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season. The injury was confirmed this Friday (8) by Galatasaray.
The Argentine had to leave on a stretcher after being injured alone in the 3-2 victory over Tottenham, in the Europa League.
“MRI exams detected rupture and injury to the meniscus of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee,” says the Galatasaray statement, which did not announce a timetable for when the striker will return.
After the information from the Turkish club, he spoke out on social media and promised hard work to return stronger.
“Time to stay away for a few months, with a smile, working hard to come back better. I wish a season full of achievements and success to my colleagues and the entire Galatasaray family”, he posted.
