The former president () stated that his former Minister of the Environment, now a federal deputy, is “widowed” after becoming a “husband”.
Salles, who left the PL and rejoined Novo, supported () in the campaign.
The deputy began to have a strained relationship with Bolsonaro after seeing his pre-candidacy for command of the capital of São Paulo deflated due to the former president’s support for the re-election of (MDB).
“There are guys who want to impose themselves as a leader. You don’t win leadership, you conquer it. So there are some intergalactic people there, arrange an appointment at a bar in São Paulo, no one goes,” said Bolsonaro, who shortly after referred specifically to his ex- minister.
“So Salles, who back there was like that with Alckmin [quando ele ainda era do PSDB e governava São Paulo]as secretary. After [João] Amoedo [ex-presidente do Novo]who later says he returned to Lula. Then he stayed with me, he was elected thanks to Eduardo [Bolsonaro, também deputado federal]. Then he became a ‘marsalete’. Now he’s a widower,” said Bolsonaro.
Salles was elected federal deputy in 2022, according to Bolsonaro, with votes that would fall within Eduardo’s orbit of influence.
The former president specifically expressed irritation with a tweet made by Salles after .
In the publication, the deputy says that “Trump is the greatest of intergalactics”, “he didn’t bend, he didn’t negotiate, he didn’t give in, he didn’t back down, he went there and won”.
Bolsonaro has used the expression “intergalactic” to refer to members of the right who have questioned his leadership in the field.
“It’s, of course, an indirection for me. What’s my difference to Trump? Huge, man, he’s a billionaire, I’m not a damn thing. Anything that happens in the United States has repercussions in the world.”
This Thursday (7) Salles made a new post saying he has a lot of respect for Bolsonaro and his legacy, “who has done a lot, is doing and will still do for Brazil”.
“Particularly different opinions are sometimes normal, but our gratitude, recognition and respect for him are above that, despite the futility of some. The world begins to change with Trump’s victory and it is up to us to do our part in helping Brazil, leaving this nonsense aside.”
