“The ineligible Bolsonaro is struggling with the result of the US election, but it really seems like he’s a Trump kiss-ass waiting to be cuddled. Not here, Bolsonaro! The institutions in Brazil are not bootlickers like you, who will have to pay for the crimes you committed against democracy. No amnesty”, wrote Gleisi on his profile on X, this Thursday (7).
On Wednesday (6), Gleisi spoke to his own party and lamented Trump’s victory. She classified the result as a “warning sign for the democratic field around the world” and said that the “extreme right in Brazil was shocked” by the result.

In an interview with Folha de São Paulothis Thursday (7), former president Jair Bolsonaro said that Trump’s election in the United States strengthens the right in Brazil to press for his acquittal, and that the North American himself would like to see him elected again to run for president in 2026.
Bolsonaro will ask Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to return his passport so he can participate in Trump’s inauguration, in January 2025.
