Special Secretary for Culture during the government (), represented , which manages , during an event held in Macau, China, this Thursday (7).
The event was organized by TDM (Teledifusao de Macau), a local broadcaster, to discuss the future of public service television and radio.
Ferraz was presented as director of TV Cultura, a position he does not hold, according to the Padre Anchieta Foundation. It also signed a cooperation agreement with TDM.
In a note, the Foundation says that Ferraz is a collaborator who has been providing services since January 2023, being responsible for the Development and Partnerships area. In Macau, “he represents the vice-president of the Padre Anchieta Foundation, Eneas Pereira, who was unable to be present”.
The foundation also says that “all transportation, accommodation and food expenses are being covered by the event organizers.”
Ferraz is close to the current federal deputy (PL-SP), whom he succeeded in command of the Culture portfolio during the Bolsonaro administration in March 2022. Before that, his relationship with the then head of the department was a source of controversy.
In 2020, as substitute national secretary of Audiovisual, he became known for heading to the headquarters of the Cinemateca Brasileira, in São Paulo, and “” of the institution, which was managed by the Associação de Comunicação Educativa Roquette Pinto (Acerp). He was accompanied by the Federal Police.
In 2022, he was alongside Frias on a publicly funded trip to New York to meet with jiu-jitsu fighter Renzo Gracie and also with producers responsible for taking Broadway shows to tours in Asia. As shown by Sheetand the projects never got off the ground.
In January 2023, the government (PT) overturned Ferraz’s appointment to assume the position of director of Ancine (National Cinema Agency) that had been made by the Bolsonaro administration.
