Of course, the decision has already triggered complaints, especially from the left. Especially because the Copom’s announcement about interest rates comes amid the debate over the government’s spending cut package, which also angers a large part of the PT’s support base and, therefore, the Lula government.
But, after all: are interest rates really to blame for the imbalance in public accounts? Is it all the fault of wanting to please the “rentiers”, as much of the left defends?
