The summit, which will take place on November 18th and 19th, will bring together representatives from 55 countries and international organizations at the Museum of Modern Art (), located in Rio de Janeiro. All 21 full members of the G20 are confirmed, including the African Union, in addition to eight partner nations and 12 international organizations that were invited to the event. There are also permanent members, such as Spain. The leaders of the group of the world’s largest economies will be able to discuss topics such as the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists, in addition to developments in Lebanon and Iran.

During the summit, participants will participate in three plenary sessions. The first of them, scheduled for the 18th, will focus on social inclusion and the fight against hunger and poverty. This meeting will begin with the arrival of leaders from 8:30 am to 10:00 am and the launch of a global alliance aimed at addressing these challenges. They will be received by the president and first lady Janja Lula da Silva.

The second session, which will take place on the same day, will address global governance reform, with an emphasis on the necessary changes in the UN and international financial institutions. This topic is crucial for adapting global structures to the new realities and needs of countries. At the beginning of the evening, Lula and Janja will welcome guests at MAM in a meeting that lasts until 8pm.

On the 19th, discussions will focus on sustainable development and energy transitions, reflecting the growing concern about environmental issues and the need for a more sustainable future. The event will culminate with the symbolic ceremony, scheduled to take place between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm, in which African President Cyril Ramaphosa will receive the baton from Lula. Afterwards, lunch will be served at MAM.
