The Ministry of Transport continues to repair the railway network and roads
The Ministry of Transport has just sent an update on the work to repair both the railway network (suburban and AVE) and the roads.
Surroundings
The repair work on the Valencia-Silla line (common section C1 and C2) is developing at a good pace and Adif is already replacing track on the section.
On the Algemesí-Alzira (C2) route, 195 cubic meters (m3) of ballast have been unloaded on 400 linear meters of track, between Alzira and Algemesí, being subsequently tamped and profiled. The Algemesí area is the most damaged on the line, but progress is being made at a good pace, raising track and preparing the ground for its replacement.
At the Algemesí station (C2) the track has been cleaned and progress is being made in removing the rail and sleepers.
The situation of the C3 (Valencia-Buñol-Utiel), 89 km, is very complicated. Access to some sections is almost impossible, so Ineco drones are being used for inspection tasks.
Because some areas are inaccessible and classic topography is not viable due to the poor condition of the platform and its surroundings, drones are being used for inspection work to address the reconstruction of the platform and the road.
The Loriguilla – Cheste – Chiva section has significant damage. The condition of a viaduct in the section (Cheste) is especially complicated since it has a completely destroyed abutment and pier. It will have to be practically rebuilt, including the Cheste viaduct.
The videos of the Cheste – Loriguilla section, made by the Ineco topography team in Valencia, speak for themselves.
For its part, in the Xirivella-Loriguilla section the platform is being cleared and cleaned to install new track. Work: track cleaning, lane cutting of 650 m, ballast removal, access repair.
The Aldaia station track (C3) is already dismantled (track raised), waiting to begin replacing the platform and installing the track. The station building is in fairly good condition. Manual cleaning of all Aldaia signaling and interlocking systems.
In the Buñol-Cheste section (C3) track is being raised for 160 meters.
Drone flights make it possible to evaluate damage to infrastructure, verify access for heavy machinery and locate elements on the road for their removal.
High speed
Chiva Tunnel: Completed the assembly of tracks, inside the tunnel from km. 365+577 to 365+420, and at the Madrid mouth from km 365+000 to 365+120. The assembly of tracks on the Valencia side continues after the completion of assembly on the Madrid side. Track 2 98% assembled, Track 1 in process.
In the Torrent tunnel, cleaning continues.
Roads
Provisional diversion of the A7 to recover the connection with the A3 at Quart de Poblet and facilitate metropolitan mobility and recover the functionality of the Valencia bypass.
Progress is being made in the concreting and spreading of earth over the 250 concrete frames already placed up to the crest of the embankment.
Means mobilized for land extension.
100 trucks
3 bulldozers
3 backhoes
2 front blades
1 milling machine
4 roller compactor
A passage has been enabled for military and emergency convoys.
The ministry continues working on the emergency of the N-330 and N-322
Utiel area (km 194): progress is being made in the embankment to open as soon as possible the alternative passage that will allow the connection of a very important section between Utiel and Talayuelas (about 36 km)
Talayuelas – Landete area (km 230 – 236): earthworks progress: with the causeway it is a longer detour
N-322 in Pontón – Requena: A pedestrian speed bump that already existed (before DANA) for the pedestrian crossing has been cleared of dirt and mud
Progress is being made in the repair work on the N-3 near Siete Aguas and Buñol. Yesterday, 4.2 million emergency euros were made available for the works
All lanes of the V-31, V-30, A-3 and A-7, north of the A-3, are enabled, after removing vehicles, materials and mud in more than 118 km between the trunk of the road, service roads, acceleration roads, collectors…
42 km remain closed, corresponding to the N-330, N-322, N-3 and A-7, south of the A-3, where work is being carried out.
