The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL)highlighted the importance of parliaments in the agreements that could be made between the countries that make up the G20.

According to Lira, all proposals and agreements that are established will need to be approved and ratified by the parliaments of these countries.

“Our expectation is that the countries that make up the G20, with respect to the institutions, their parliaments are signing a letter of intent, a propositional document so that what is discussed here is observed there. Everything that is done in terms of agreement needs to be approved by parliaments. And this interaction between powers is increasingly important at the country or global level”, stated Lira.

For the president of the Chamber, it is necessary to review the role of multilateral entities that take care of global governance.

“Geopolitics is changing and containment bodies that seek peace and the balance of guaranteeing the lives of innocent civilians are losing strength,” concluded Lira.
