This Friday, Palmeiras has a crucial game in the fight for the Brazilian Championship title. The alviverde team will face Grêmio at 9:30 pm, at Allianz Parque, for the 33rd round of the competition. It will be Palmeiras’ first commitment at their stadium since the ban on members of the Mancha Alvi Verde fans. The organizers are prohibited from attending São Paulo stadiums for an indefinite period of time.

The decision was taken after the involvement of the organization’s fans in the ambush against Cruzeiro’s Máfia Azul fans, which took place at the end of October. The episode of violence left one fan dead and several injured.

To prohibit the presence of Mancha Alvi Verde in stadiums, the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) accepted a request from the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo. In this way, the determination prevents the entry into São Paulo stadiums of any clothing or objects (banners, flags) that identify members of Palmeiras’ main organized fans.

Mancha fans can be present at the Alviverde team’s matches, but without carrying any object or wearing clothing associated with the organized fan base in question.

Since the resolution of the São Paulo Public Ministry, Palmeiras has only entered the field once. Last Monday, Abel Ferreira’s team lost to Corinthians 2-0, at Neo Química Arena. The classic was only attended by fans of the Corinthians team.

For this Friday’s game against Grêmio, Palmeiras announced that 25,300 tickets have already been sold. The general sale began on Wednesday morning. Tickets cost between R$130 and R$250.

Palmeiras is in second place in the Brazilian Championship, with 61 points. Botafogo leads the competition, with 67 points.
