The actor Selton Mello used social media on Thursday (7) to celebrate the premiere of “I’m Still Here” in Brazilian cinemas. He stars in the new production of Walter Salles (“Central do Brasil”) next to Fernanda Torres.

“I’m Still Here” is Brazil’s representative in the dispute for a nomination for the 2025 Oscar. The film is an adaptation. The story takes place in the 1970s, during the most intense period of the military dictatorship in Brazil, and follows the trajectory of the Paiva family, made up of Rubens (played by ), Eunice (played by ) and their children.
The family’s life is completely transformed when, on one fateful day, Rubens Paiva is taken by undercover soldiers and disappears without a trace. Eunice, who will spend decades searching for answers about her husband’s whereabouts, needs to rebuild herself and chart a new path for herself and her children. .
