The Republican won by obtaining more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to defeat Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, US television stations announced in the early hours of Wednesday. The tycoon won more than half of the country’s 50 states; six of the seven considered decisive: North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada, totaling 301 Electoral College votes. He has already obtained 226.
