It increases and aligns them with the capital city rates. This follows from the generally binding regulation (VZN), which was approved by the local council this week. The new rules are to come into effect on January 1, 2025.
“The harmonization of rules and rates will bring greater clarity and clear conditions for the acquisition of public space anywhere within the cadastral territory of the Old Town. Regardless of whether the locality is managed by the city district or the city of Bratislava,” stated the mayor of the Old Town, Matej Vagač.
Tax for outdoor seating in certain frequented locations such as streets Michalská, Ventúrska, Panská or Laurinská or Hviezdoslavovo námestie, will increase from one euro to 1.50 euros per square meter per day. The tax for the location of an ambulatory sales facility will also be matched to the amount of street tax in the administration of the capital city. It will rise from the current one euro to 1.50 euros per day.
New tax subjects will also be added to the new VZN. The new item concerns, for example, scaffolding. Scaffolding without advertising and not used for the repair or reconstruction of the facade will be charged one euro per day within 60 days of placement, subsequently in the amount of 2.50 euros per day. The tax for permanent parking for vehicles of persons with severe disabilities will be adjusted to 0.02 euros per square meter per day in line with the rate of the capital.
