Cargo plane makes emergency landing in Guarulhos after fire

There were no casualties; the aircraft was a Total Cargo Boeing 737 and had documentation in good standing

A cargo plane from the company Total Cargo made an emergency landing in the early hours of this Saturday (November 9, 2024) at Guarulhos International Airport. The emergency was declared after a fire broke out in the hold mid-flight. There were no victims.

The airport’s firefighters and operations team were called to fight the flames, involving a coordinated operation involving 3 vehicles.

Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center) is investigating the causes of the fire and the emergency landing.

“The conclusion of the investigation will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of the occurrence and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”said the agency.

The plane is a Boeing 737 and had documentation in good standing.
