According to the President of the European Council, the fragmentation of the capital market should be eliminated

There is a need to strengthen the economic foundations of the European Union and to have more dialogue on wars to ensure that common interests are promoted. This was said by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, on Friday after the informal EU summit in Budapest. Referring to the infostart.hu server, the correspondent of TASR in Budapest informs about it.

According to him, solving global challenges, the climate crisis, digital problems and other tasks requires cooperation. “The internal market must be deepened by the use of digital technologies and the fragmentation of the capital market must be removed. The situation of businesses, as well as their access to capital, must be facilitated. This is an urgent topic, while it will also be necessary to create an investment union,” added the President of the European Council.

“With the new Republican administration of the United States that will take office with President Donald Trump in January 2025, there will be a need to cooperate in the areas of climate protection, economy and security. Europe must also improve its own defense capabilities,” emphasized Michel, who is ending his five-year mandate as President of the European Council.
