President of the (Brazilian Palestine Arab Federation), Ualid Rabah says his concern about the impact of the Republican’s victory is fair, but states that “so many Palestinians have never been killed” as under the government of the Democrat and his vice-president who was defeated in the election.
“Some people are very concerned about Trump’s victory in Palestine. Well, is the concern fair? Of course it is. But it must be said that this genocide [os palestinos mortos na guerra com Israel] is a Democrat”, says Rabah.
He cites episodes from the Barack Obama administration (2009-17) and the , which began on October 7, 2023. “The Democrats have infinitely more Palestinian blood on their hands, infinitely more than the Republicans”, he states, highlighting that this does not mean that whether you supported Trump or Kamala.
Rabah recognizes that Trump’s first government was not positive for the Palestinians and recalls that the .
“Biden was elected promising to reverse this and he didn’t. He closed the PLO office [Organização para a Libertação da Palestina] from Washington. Biden was elected promising that he would restore this. He didn’t.”
He highlights that, a priori, Trump’s victory is not positive for the Palestinians. “Is Trump the owner of this genocide? Neither. Will he continue to maintain this genocide? Let’s see. The United States has never stopped being genocidal in the last 100 years. I don’t know if it will be different now under Republican Donald Trump.”
