“The deaths of Gregory Ribeiro Vasconcelos and Ryan da Silva Andrade Santos during an operation by the Military Police of the State of São Paulo cannot be treated as an ‘acceptable result’ of a violent and excessive action by the police forces, which has been increasingly recurring in operations in poor neighborhoods and on the outskirts of the state, resulting in death becoming increasingly common”, says the representation.
The document also mentions the fact that the military police officers who participated in the action did not wear body cameras in their uniforms.
For the deputy, the case “is not an isolated incident, but a consequence of a way of acting guided by conflict and the use of excessive force, which promotes deaths and the violation of fundamental rights, especially on the outskirts of the state.”
The representation adds that the PM and therefore also cites a police officer identified as Sergeant Ailton, responsible for the attitude.
