Defender Léo Ortíz and striker Gabriel Martinelli were called up to the Brazilian team to face Venezuela and Uruguay to replace the injured Éder Militão and Rodrygo, the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) reported this Saturday.
Militão and Rodrygo were injured this Saturday during the match that their team, Real Madrid, played against Osasuna in the Spanish league.
After becoming aware of the injuries, the CBF announced in a statement the call-up of Léo Ortíz, a Flamengo player, and Martinelli, who plays for Arsenal de London.
According to the first information, Rodrygo suffered a muscle problem in his right leg, while Militão tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee and said goodbye to the current season.
The Brazilian team focuses on Monday for the two duels of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup that they will play this month: on Thursday (14) against Venezuela, in Maturín, and on Tuesday ( 19) against Uruguay, in Salvador.
