President Luiz Inácio da Silva () promoted an ecumenical celebration at Palácio do Planalto this Friday (8) to celebrate the five-year anniversary of his release. Lula, on November 8, 2019.
“Today marks 5 years since I regained my freedom in Curitiba. To mark this date, alongside [Janja Silva]I invited all the religious people who visited me during the 580 days I was in prison to an ecumenical ceremony,” he said in a post on social media.
Lula was arrested in , in Curitiba. The place measures 15 square meters, has a bathroom and is isolated on the top floor of the building. He had no contact with other prisoners, who live in the prison, on the first floor.
The release of the then former president occurred on the day that (the end of resources) of the process. Lula had been convicted in the second instance and, in 2021, on suspicion of the then head of the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, responsible for Lava Jato.
