The defense of four members of Mancha Alviverde, wanted by the courts, said in a statement that they did not have access to the investigation against them. They are suspected of involvement in the ambush of Cruzeiro residents on the Fernão Dias highway, in Mairiporã, on the 27th. On that occasion, one person died and 20 were injured.
Six members of the organization have arrest warrants issued by the courts and are considered fugitives, including president Jorge Luis Sampaio, 43, and vice-president Felipe Mattos dos Santos, 31.
The lawyers defending Jorge Luis and Felipe, as well as two other fugitives, said in a note sent to the reporter this Sunday (2) that they did not have access to the investigation.
“The defense so far does not have access to the investigation, nor to the results of the investigations. The press has more information than the constituted defense itself, even though the case is under judicial secrecy, this is an affront to the Rule of Law and broad defense of investigated”, lawyers Gilberto Quintanilha Pucci and Luiz Ferreti Junior declared in a statement.
Jorge Luis was an employee in the office of the PL leader in the São Paulo Chamber, Isac Félix, and was dismissed two days after the ambush, according to the Panel column.
Civil police and prosecutors from Gaeco (Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime) carried out an operation last Friday morning (1st) to execute arrest and search and seizure warrants against them. Everyone has been involved in fights and the Maria da Penha Law.
The agents were at the fans’ headquarters, on Palestra Itália Street, in Perdizes, west zone. Objects linked to the fans were seized.
to ambush
The attack on two buses containing Blue Mafia fans left one dead and around 20 injured. Motorcycle courier José Victor Miranda, 30, was attacked and suffered burns to his body, according to the PRF (Federal Highway Police). One of the attacked vehicles was set on fire and the other was vandalized.
A week after the ambush, only one suspect involved in the case was arrested. He was located in a residence in Freguesia do Ó, in the north of São Paulo. An iron bar was also seized at the scene.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, is not among the six fugitives.
The SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) stated that the suspect arrested on Friday was charged with the crimes of homicide, bodily harm, damage, riot and criminal association. He was taken to the 8th Police District prison, where he remains detained at the disposal of the Court.
“The investigations are continuing, under secrecy, by the 6th Deatur/Drade (Police Station for the Suppression of Offenses of Sports Intolerance), which is carrying out efforts to locate the others involved and execute the respective arrest warrants”, he stated.
