Minister Fernando Haddad even commented, during the week, that there were only two details left to be finalized before the announcement
The meeting between President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the economic team and other ministers on a package of cost containment measures under discussion in the government ended without announcements or interviews this Friday, Planalto reported.
Earlier in the week, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, had stated that most of the government members participating in the discussions had converged on the need for the set of measures and that there were only two “details” to be finalized, before the package will be presented to the presidents of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG).
