Silveira criticized the performance of the energy agency, for its omission in relation to the Enel concessionaire, and wants the oil regulatory body to act against organized crime in the fuel sector
The minister of , (PSD-MG), said that the MME is uneasy in relation to Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) and demanded rigor from the (National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency) against the growing infiltration of organized crime in fuel production chain.
Silveira spoke this Friday (8.Nov.2024) at the launch of .
“They [as agências] they must respect the public policy maker. They have to work to execute and regulate the policies dictated by the formulator who is, in one instance, the President of the Republic, and, in the case of the electricity sector and other energies, the National Congress”he declared.
As an example, the minister cited the MME’s “concern” with the (National Electric Energy Agency).
On other occasions, especially in relation to the inspection of Enel, the concessionaire in São Paulo, responsible for the recent blackouts in the metropolitan region of the capital of São Paulo.
Furthermore, greater rigor was demanded from the (National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency) regarding the growing infiltration of organized crime in the fuel production chain.
“The biggest priority, in the view of the Minister of Mines and Energy, is that organized crime does not continue to advance and launder money in the fuel sector in Brazil”he stated.
