Psolista accuses the governor of São Paulo of abuse of political power and misuse of media
Minister Nunes Marques, from the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), sent the criminal complaint filed by the (Psol) campaign against the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), to the (Electoral Attorney General’s Office).
The action was motivated by one given by Tarcísio on October 27, 2024, the day of the 2nd round of elections. At the time, he stated that the criminal faction PCC had guided votes for Boulos, an opponent in the dispute for Mayor of São Paulo (MDB), supported by the governor.
On Thursday (7.Nov.2024), the TSE will comment on the case. Based on the MP’s analysis, the rapporteur, Nunes Marques, will decide whether the case will proceed to trial in Court.
BOULOS x TARCÍSIO
On October 27, alongside the mayor (MDB), Tarcísio had told journalists, at his polling place at Colégio Miguel de Cervantes, that the PCC instructed its members to vote for Boulos, without presenting evidence. He said that the information would be the result of a “conversation interception” through intelligence actions.
The (Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo) reported that it had not officially received any data on the alleged targeting of votes by the PCC.
The (Secretariat of State for Public Security Affairs of São Paulo) that the Intelligence System of “intercepted the circulation of messages attributed to a criminal faction” determining the choice of candidates for mayor in the capital of São Paulo, in Sumaré and in Santos. In the statement, the organization does not specify which criminal organization had guided its members and does not mention that the request for votes from inmates was for Boulos.
Nunes was re-elected to the position for another 4 years from January 1, 2025. With 100% of the polls counted, the emedebista received 59,35% of valid votes (given to candidates, excluding blank and null votes) against 40,65% by deputy Guilherme Boulos.
