The president of , (-MG), defended this Thursday (7) the regulation of “digital technologies”, highlighting artificial intelligence, during his speech at the opening of P20, a meeting of the presidents of parliaments of the countries of the Chamber.
“We cannot forget the importance and attention to digital technologies, especially artificial intelligence and the internet of things, in facing our challenges. The Brazilian National Congress has worked to produce a solid legislative framework that regulates digital technologies and media, bringing legal security to the sector”, said Pacheco.
“To achieve this, we need an efficient, inclusive and resilient digital infrastructure, which promotes global connectivity in favor of reducing inequalities”, stated the president of the Senate.
Also in his speech, the senator stated that the world is experiencing a “delicate moment” in which “democracy is questioned in various parts of the globe.” “By forming the P20, the group of twenty rises to the democratic challenge inherent to the proper functioning of the international system, which demands more dialogue, transparency and participation from different nations and their peoples,” he said.
The president of the Chamber, (-AL), highlighted in his speech the vote on matters such as tax reform and green agenda projects in the House. He also said that it is necessary to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between countries “avoiding resort to unilateral, punitive or unbalanced formulas”.
“We are going through a period of great tensions between different nations. Added to this sad scenario are humanitarian, climate and health crises that have contributed to the increase in inequalities,” said Lira.
“In reiterating our strongest condemnation of all forms of terrorism, we renew our call for all parliaments to engage in the promotion of peace, with special attention to protecting the lives of innocent civilians,” said the deputy.
