The Federal Police indicted, this Friday (8), businessman and former candidate for Mayor of São Paulo Pablo Marçal for the crime of using a false document. He gave a statement at the PF headquarters in São Paulo in the morning and was notified of the indictment.
The indictment refers to a publication made by Marçal on his social networks, on the eve of the first round of municipal elections, on October 4th. The former candidate published an alleged report that would point to drug consumption by his opponent in the dispute Guilherme Boulos (PSOL). The psolista claimed that the medical report presented was false and the PF’s expertise pointed out the falsification.
After the complaint, ophthalmologist Aline Garcia Souza, daughter of doctor José Roberto de Souza, who appears in the document used by Marçal as the professional who would have treated Boulos after an alleged use of cocaine, stated that the signature used in the document is false. She assures that her father never worked in the capital of São Paulo and never provided services for the clinic mentioned in the report, Mais Consultas. He was a pathologist and hematologist. Aline’s father passed away in April 2022 due to a rare blood disease.
On October 5, the PF began investigations and the Electoral Court suspended Marçal’s social networks. The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, summoned the candidate for mayor of São Paulo Pablo Marçal for improper use of the X. The decision, which was shared with the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), minister Cármen Lúcia , presented in his text that there were “indications of abuse of economic power and misuse of the media”.
Some right-wing WhatsApp groups linked Marçal’s initiative to an attempt to “help the left” and take the Psolist deputy to the second round. The false report, some supporters believe, would provoke a wave of solidarity with Boulos.
The PF report will be sent, under the jurisdiction of the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP), to the Public Electoral Ministry, which will analyze whether to file a complaint or not.
