The final episodes of “Yellowstone” are about to debut. With release scheduled for Sunday (10), the idea is for the series to finalize its story. However, rumors of a possible continuation of the plot in a sixth season, or even the creation of a spin-off production (derived from the original work) began to circulate among fans.
In an interview with CNN Before the last episodes aired, the story’s protagonist couple, Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) and Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) spoke about a possible continuation for “Yellowstone”.
According to Cole Hauser, a possible sixth season, or even a spin-off focused on his and Kelly Reilly’s character, is just “under negotiation” and the rumors that it will happen for sure are not true.
Kelly Reilly, in turn, said that the closure of a chapter of “Yellowstone” is definitely confirmed for the next episodes, but that she would be open to new possibilities.
“I think we want to end this, we’re definitely ending a chapter of ‘Yellowstone,’ and if there’s a future beyond this, it has to come after this. There are creative conversations and I think we’re both excited about what they could be.”
“All I can say is that I’m really excited about this year,” added Cole Hauser.
The second part of the new season features the absence of the character John Dutton, patriarch of the main family in the story. Kevin Costner, actor who brings the man to life, abandoned the role in June this yearwhen the new western film started shooting “Horizon: An American Saga”.
In an interview with the North American magazine People, Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton) was . The first season of “Yellowstone” premiered in 2018.
“He is a great presence, the guy is an icon. So not having him around for the set was a little different. But we are one big family now. It was so special and, I hope, fans will be able to connect with the story as much as… I think they will,” he commented.
Regarding a possible new season after the end of the fifth, Luke Grimes said he still has no idea if that would happen.
“It all comes down to Taylor’s vision [Sheridan]. Basically, we’re just going to see if Taylor has an idea that excites him, and that’s going to make all the difference here”, he concluded, talking about the production’s author.
In total, the conclusion of “Yellowstone” will have six episodes, which will be released weekly on the Paramount+ streaming service until December 15th.
