Loyal viewers of Markíza were hit by the news on Friday that the presenter Adela Vinczeová will no longer perform in the Let’s Dance show. As the newspaper reported, the reason for her decision is that her husband should have been removed from the project. A monetary penalty was also to follow.
Viktor Vincze worked for months with Michal Kovačič and Adel Ghannam in trade unions. Kovačič and Ghannam left television in the meantime. The anticipated Let’s Dance tour arrived, but Vincze, who hosted the show for years, was not among the performers. The place of the second moderator was taken by the singer Tina.
After all this Adela flatly refused to participate in the next series of the successful project. “I’m not going to the next series, as Viktor was removed from the TV version as well as from the tour as a reaction to his activity in the news in recent months. I wouldn’t feel well in such a setting. Viktor stood up for the right thing, devoted a lot of energy to it, sacrificed a lot of personal well-being, as well as our common well-being, this is the least I can do in this matter,” she said in the statement for Koktejl.sk Adela Vinczeová and added that it is a matter of principle for her.
“I see the marquee and Let’s Dance as brands that mean a lot to me in life, well we are currently parting ways with Markíza’s management regarding the actions taken towards Viktor and the topic we represent,” Vincze concluded.
Despite the unexpected decision, television did not resent the presenter. “Adela Vinczeová received an offer from Television Markíza to appear in the entertainment program Let’s Dance, which she did not accept. which we fully respect. Television Markíza is always interested in working with the best, of course, also with Adela, so we look forward to the possibility of working together on other programs and opportunities in the future.” Andrea Macáková, head of PR TV Markíza, stated for Koktejl.sk.
The tense situation probably goes even deeper. According to the newspaper SME, Vincze has reduced income by a fifth and will no longer host Let’s Dance after three previous series. In addition, according to the findings of the daily, the television management banned him from appearing in a private broadcast on the Instagram account of former colleague Michal Kovačič.
Vincze, Michal Kovačič and Adel Ghannam founded unions and talked about censorship. Many colleagues joined them. They founded the union in the first half of the year and in April they responded to the tension in the editorial office of news and journalism. A large part of the news team was supposed to have clashed with the new boss after the new news director took office last December.
On Thursday, the news unions in Markíza were supposed to send out the previous information to their colleagues through the union newsletter. They claim that director Peter Gažík is also taking further steps in connection with Vincz, calling them new and unnecessary fronts. According to them, the management is punishing one of its faces. “Let’s just remind that almost 20 percent of Viktor’s salary was taken for publicly standing up for journalistic principles,” SME quotes the words of the trade unionists in the document.
