Although visits are an extremely beautiful occasion, everyone seems to be running out of ideas for what to put on the table for special guests. Carrot rolls with plums
Plums are a classic autumn fruit. This means that the plum filling of these rolls will be perfect for creating an autumn atmosphere. Take 80 grams of prunes. Finely chop them, then put them in a bowl or a large glass and pour 50 milliliters of rum over them.
Leave the plums in it until they swell, and you can start preparing the dough. Peel and finely grate 200 grams of carrots. Then transfer the carrots to a bowl and add 400 grams of plain flour, a packet of baking powder and a pinch of salt.
Next, add 250 grams of soft butter cut into cubes and 1 egg. Mix all the ingredients and make a smooth and non-sticky dough. Once you’ve made the dough, let it rest in the fridge for half an hour.
Now you can move to the filling again. Boil 200 grams of ground poppy seeds in 200 milliliters of milk. Add approximately 80 grams of powdered sugar and the grated rind of 1 lemon for seasoning. Then mix the plums into the mixture, and then let it cool.
Ready and delicious in no time
The dough should be rested, as it should be. Take it out of the fridge and cut it into quarters. Roll out each quarter using a rolling pin. Cut each quarter of the dough into about 8 triangles. Then put a teaspoon of plum-poppy filling on each triangle and roll the dough into rolls.
Then spread the rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in the oven. Bake at a temperature of 190 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes, until the rolls are golden, or rather slightly orange. And you’re done. All you have to do is let them cool and you can serve a beautiful autumn dessert. Bon appetite!
