Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said this Wednesday morning (6) that he believes that the meetings to define government spending cuts have been concluded. “I believe that yesterday we finished the round of meetings requested by President Lula. We will have a conversation with him as soon as he is informed that the Finance and Planning work is completed,” said Haddad. On Monday (4), Haddad guaranteed that the details will be.
“The ministers are all very aware of the task that lies ahead”, assured Haddad, highlighting that there is a “consensus” on compliance with fiscal rules. In the conversations, according to the minister, there was a conclusion about the importance of the fiscal framework for the “predictability of financial sustainability in the medium and long term”.
After the end of the government meetings, the definitions made regarding the spending cuts should also be the subject of a “prior conversation” between President Lula and the presidents of the Chamber and the Senate.
