Ukrainians and the Russian Offensive: Predictions for 2025
The Ukrainian front is struggling with the unexpected strength of the Russian offensive, which has led to the loss of key towns such as Avdijivka and others. Analyst Alexander Duleba has assessed the situation and predicts that the Ukrainians could soon stop the Russian advance, thanks to the acquisition of Western military technology that would eliminate the new Russian air superiority.
Despite forecasts predicting the collapse of the Russian military and economy, which did not come true, Duleba sees sense in attempts to stabilize Ukraine’s defense lines. The year 2025 could be a turning point for the Ukrainians if they manage to gain air supremacy. Despite the Russian military’s ability to capture Ukrainian territory using aerial bombs and trench tactics, the Ukrainians still hold strategic positions like Kurachov.
On the other hand, the Russian population faces enormous inflation and neglected healthcare, which can further polarize the social and economic situation in the country. Analysts believe that this tension could affect Russia’s domestic political direction in the long term.

Donald Trump’s return to the White House means cautious expectations for global stability. Experts fear that Trump’s unpredictability, together with the tense geopolitical situation, could increase uncertainty in international relations, especially in the field of security.
Trump’s tenure may reshape diplomatic relations, while his stance on NATO and international alliances remains a mystery. Europe, as František Šebej adds, will have to deal with its own security strategy in the event of a weakening of transatlantic relations.
