The Government Delegation in Asturias has reported this Sunday of a landslide on the Huerna Highway, the AP-66, at kilometer point 76, near Lena. The highway remains closed to traffic in both directions. The Civil Guard is diverting traffic in La Magdalena and Lena to circulate on the N-630. The highway concessionaire, Aucalsa, is working to restore traffic “as soon as possible.” 112 received the notice from the Argayo around 10:05 a.m. this Sunday.
Patrols from the Civil Traffic Guard and firefighters from the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) traveled to the site and are reviewing the area. The canine unit is expected to arrive shortly to confirm that no people are trapped. SEPA sources have assured that “there is no evidence” that there are people affected by the landslide. Civil Protection volunteers are also traveling to the area to carry out information work on vehicles that have been affected by the outage.
