In Australia, an unusual creature was washed ashore, which scared the locals. The unusual discovery was found on the beach at Horseshoe Bay, near Port Elliot.
According to a woman walking her dog, she came across this three-meter mass of translucent stems, took several photos and posted them on social media.
Locals compared the strange creature to “vermicelli” and drew attention to the shells at the ends of each stem.
“I’ve been walking along Horseshoe Bay for over 26 years – and I’ve never seen anything like it,” one local said, reports Noi.md reading.
According to marine ecologist Dr Zoe Doubleday from the University of South Australia, the find turned out to be a group of sea acorns.
“These are crustaceans, which are actually closer to shrimp than to molluscs,” she said.
