The tricolor fan asked, asked and asked for a breather from the now five games that Bahia went through without winning – and even deluded himself with his arrival on this night Saturday (09), at Alfredo Jaconi, for the 33rd round of the Brasileirão. With a goal difference on the scoreboard since the first minute of the game, the Esquadrão had everything to guarantee a peaceful match, but lost control in the second half and let Juventude grow with two goals in less than ten minutes.
Feeling the pressure for a place in the Libertadores 2025 increasing, the mood within Bahia remains agitated, with a respite that is no more than game time after losing to a Juventude team who have six games without winning in the Brazilian Championship. The first goal of the match came right at the beginning. In an exceptional move by Lucho Rodriguez, the Uruguayan, started from the right wing, dribbled past a marker and crossed to Caulythere are four games without scoring, which came at high speed to score goals.
In the second half, everything was different. Lucas Barbosa covered Marcos Felipe and Gabriel Taliari blocked the tricolor goalkeeper for Juventude to overcome Bahia, making it difficult for the Bahian tricolor to position itself in the table.
As a result, the Bahia continues with the same 46 pointsoccupying 8th position in the competition. The Squadron’s next challenge will be o Palmeirasvice-leader of the Brasileirão, on November 20th. Rogério Ceni’s men will have the mission of breaking the fast, which is now five games without winning.
THE GAME
Starting to talk about the confrontation between Bahia and Juventude this Saturday is talking about Cauly’s goal in the first minute. The striker, who hadn’t scored a goal in four games, scored after a gift from Lucho Rodríguez.
Together, the two celebrated the good start, creating a more destabilizing game for Juventude, which was encouraged by its players on the bench, standing and telling the starters to raise their heads. Despite the possibility of tranquility that often comes with goals ‘too early’, Bahia did not back down, and continued trying to maintain an offensive game.
The match continued dynamically between turnovers and free kicks, the first being by Edson Carioca against Everton Ribeiro, with the ball saved by Marcos Felipe. One of the highlights of the first half is Lucho Rodríguez, who after scoring the first goal, which was practically his, continued dribbling to place the ball in the area.
Marking a sincere failure in his ex’s law, Gilberto tried to guide Juventude’s attack, using the right wing to scare Marcos Felipe a few times, but without scoring in any of them. Not enough, after a pass from Jadson, Lucas entered the left wing and passed the ball low into the area, with Gilberto trying to reach it and convert it into a goal.
In the confusion of the small area, the ex-Bahia player collided with Marcos Felipe, and the game stopped for both of them. Unable to walk, the center forward was taken off the field on a stretcher, and replaced by Gabriel Taliari.
It was then that Bahia took some speed and reinforced the defensive system, without as much space to receive the ball and create plays as before, in a game that was at least balanced. Booed by the fans, the home team left the field after 50 minutes of pressure and with two balls hitting the crossbar, but still looking for an improvement in the confused midfield and on the scoreboard.
From the second half onwards, the tricolor peace began to crumble, when an aerial pass from Nenê, who came on for Mandaca, reached Lucas Barbosa flanked in goal. Without doing the obvious and playing into the area, shirt 21 shot from cover directly at goalleaving everything the same at Alfredo Jaconi.
The overthrow of Bahia came to fruition with the work of art designed by Gabriel Taliari, who hit Marcos Felipe and finished the ball received from Ronaldo into the back of the net. The immediate reaction was to climb the fence to shout to the fans about the approach of leaving the relegation zone, responded by a yellow card.
