No one wants to spend an entire Saturday cleaning the house, but the dust seems to accumulate every week, forcing you to wipe and clean the same shelves and cabinets. But there is a way to do it less often and keep it clean.
In the words of my aunt, you don’t need an entire cabinet of cleaning supplies to get your house in tip-top shape. In my experience, you can cut your cleaning time in half if you use a dusting spray instead of a regular surface cleaner. All you need is vinegar, olive oil and some dishwashing liquid for this anti-dust spray.
How to make a dust spray?
To make the spray, combine:
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 cup vinegar – for disinfection and dirt removal
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil – to polish and keep the dust longer
- 10-15 drops of essential oil – for a beautiful aroma
Mix everything together and use in place of your regular surface cleaner for best results.
The spray does a great job of getting rid of dust and allows you to clean less often with just as good results.
This spray is not a miracle cure, so you end up having to dust the shelves and furniture. However, you will notice that with regular use of this spray, you can afford to wipe surfaces once every two weeks rather than every week. The furniture is then like new and shines perfectly.
Where to use this spray
You can use this spray on most surfaces that you normally wipe.
- Try it on a wooden coffee table, bookshelves, desks, dressers and side tables, or a wooden worktop in the kitchen.
- You can also use the spray on moldings, window ledges, door ledges and picture frame ledges.
To prevent excessive wetting of the surface, spray the solution onto the microfiber cloth rather than onto the surface itself.
Take some plasters, pour oil on them and stick them in the cabinets. You will defeat the invasion of small pests
