A survey by the (National Secretariat of Penal Policies), of the Ministry of Justice, shows that Brazil has approximately 100 criminal organizations. From 2022 to 2024, 88 active factions were identified within 1,760 prison blocks.
The Northeast appears as the 1st region with the highest concentration of orcrims (criminal organizations) – there are 46. According to data obtained by Poder360Bahia is the State with the most factions: there are 21.
In 2nd place among the regions with the most orcrims is the South, with 24. Rio Grande do Sul has 10 different factions.
Next is the Southeast, with 18. In Minas Gerais, the main state of dispute between the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and the CV (Comando Vermelho) there are 11 factions.
The North appears with 14 criminal organizations, and the Central-West, with 10.
According to data obtained by Poder360the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital), created in São Paulo, is the criminal organization with the greatest national influence: it operates in 24 states and the Federal District – the exception is only Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul.
The original CV from Rio de Janeiro operates in the same states as the PCC, outside of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul.
