In four years, Biden has not managed to advance a single original project in his relations with Brazil, much less with the Amazon. At sunset, he will come to and pass through Manaus, with the opportunity to take photographs in the forest and in the company of indigenous leaders.
He will be the second American president to feel attracted to the Amazon after losing an election.
Defeated in 1912 when he tried to return to the White House, Theodore Roosevelt decided to explore the forest and almost died during the expedition. Unlike Biden, Roosevelt had a taste for nature and adventure.

The great moment of his visit was the delivery of 43 documents from the American government relating to the period of the dictatorship. Of them, 25 were in the public domain. The others documented much more the basement nonsense that the embassy transmitted than Washington’s relations with the generals of the time.
