In some positions can earn up to 10 euros per hourhowever, this does not apply to all regions, pointed out Jitka Kouba, director of marketing from the Grafton staffing agency.
“The trend in the field of Christmas part-time work is an increasing demand for flexible forms of work that allow part-time workers to combine several positions. Therefore, employers are increasingly offering models for shifts or part-time work, which suits not only students, but also, for example, people with commitments,” said Kouba.
She added that there is great interest in Christmas jobs every year, and it will not be any different this season either. According to her, due to the increase in the cost of living and the financial demands of households, it is expected greater interest also among employees, parents on parental leave or senior citizenswho will want to earn extra money during their free time, or plan to use the holidays for seasonal work.
Kouba specified that compared to last year, when the market was affected by inflation and lower household consumption, this year it is expected significant increase in demand for part-time workers especially in retail, gastronomy, tourism or in the field of services and purchases.
“In this segment, the demand for part-timers with digital skills who master the necessary technologies and are able to work with software tools for managing orders and logistics,” she explained. At the same time, she emphasized that people often have the opportunity for further cooperation and long-term employment after the end of a part-time job.
The average hourly wage of temporary workers increased this yearwhich, according to Kouba, also reflects the efforts of companies to attract workers. However, wages vary by region and job position. Temp workers in the Bratislava region earn the most, more than seven to eight euros per hour, especially in logistics or more demanding work in the warehouse. In retail and at cash registers, wages range from six to seven euros. On the contrary, in the Banskobystricky and Prešov regions, the wage can be a little lower, on average around five to six euros per hour.
“When it comes to individual sectors, the highest wages are usually in logistics and e-commerce, where they can reach nine to ten euros per hourespecially in the case of night or weekend shifts. On the contrary, in retail and in customer services, the salary evaluation is the lowest. However, this area offers many opportunities for those looking for a flexible part-time job,” concluded Kouba.
