The , has once again been the scene of a new Israeli bombing this Sunday. At least 33 people have lost their lives, including several children, according to Hamas government health authorities. The 51 Palestinians killed in the Strip in the last few hours bring the death toll in that enclave to more than 43,600 during the current war, of which almost 70% are women and children, according to the UN. Jabalia is located in the northernmost area, which is suffering the worst humanitarian crisis in the midst of an intense military offensive – the third since the start of the war – that Israel launched at the beginning of October.

“We urgently request the arrival of essential supplies and ambulance services, as well as the lifting of the siege in northern Gaza,” claims through a message that warns of some cases of malnutrition and famine. The United Nations confirms it, “although it is not a surprise” due to the precedents of the war. Famine is lurking, according to reports, while Israel only allows 30 trucks to arrive a day, which means 6% of the aid the population needs.

The Jewish State uses hunger as a “weapon of war,” recalls the head of that institution, Philippe Lazzarini. He insists that it is a situation created directly by man and that it can be reversed with political decisions. The Famine Review Committee (FRC) has issued an alert expressing concern about “an imminent probability” of famine in the Strip and elaborating on the need for “urgent measures” in the north of the Strip. territory to “alleviate this humanitarian catastrophe.”

Israeli authorities have responded that the FRC’s predictions never come true and are “biased,” according to the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), which oversees civilian activity in occupied Palestine.

Israeli army sources have hinted, according to media such as the newspaper Haaretzthat the objective is to empty northern Gaza of its population and not allow the inhabitants to return anymore. In addition to forced evacuations amid military attacks by land and air, Israeli authorities continue to prevent the arrival of sufficient quantities of food, water and medicine.

New attacks in Lebanon

An airstrike in Adlun, in the Saida district, south of Beirut, killed three of those health workers from the so-called Islamic Health Authority, the civil defense of the Shiite militia party Hezbollah, as announced by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

The day before, another seven paramedics had died in a bombing by Israeli planes in the Lebanese towns of Deir Qanun, Ras al Ain and Ain Baal. So far in the Israeli offensive in Lebanon, that country’s attacks have killed 189 of these professionals.

Another 12 people also died this Sunday in another bombing against a center for displaced people in Almat, north of the Lebanese capital. Three of them were children. These victims and the 19 counted on Saturday have raised the total number of deaths in the country due to Israeli attacks, since the start of the Gaza war, in October 2023, to 3,136, while the injured already exceed 14,000, according to with data from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
