Man dies after disagreement with security guards at Interlagos Racetrack

A man was killed by two security guards, aged 48 and 39, after jumping over the wall to steal parts from a structure assembled at the Interlagos Race Track, in the south zone of São Paulo, last Friday (8).

According to the police report, the suspect was armed with a knife and tried to attack the security guards, who intervened and attacked him. He died at the scene.

According to the Public Security Secretariat, the gun belonging to one of the security guards was seized, as well as a knife.

The case is investigated at the 11th DP, in Santo Amaro, which registered the incident as torture and location/seizure of an object. Regarding the guards, they were arrested in the act on suspicion of involvement in the man’s death.

HAS CNNthe city of São Paulo said, in a note, that the “administration of the Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos) informs that the competent authorities have been contacted and that it is monitoring the investigation regarding the facts and the conduct of the employees of the company responsible for monitoring the Racetrack.”
