The symbol of the 21st century should not be war conflicts, which, unfortunately, are still being fought in these moments. After a memorial service at the cemetery from the First World War in Bratislava’s Petržalka, on the occasion of Monday’s anniversary of the end of this conflict and War Veterans’ Day, he announced SR president Peter Pellegrini.

“We should call on the whole world community from these places, to do everything so that the 21st century is not a symbol of bloody conflicts again, so that these red poppies once again remind us of the conflicts of the past,” declared the president. He recalled that the First World War paralyzed the European continent and other parts of the world.

Pellegrini believes that it is necessary to return to peace negotiations in connection with the conflict in Ukraine. According to the president, peace not only in Ukraine is the most important and biggest mission that world leaders have before them. According to the spokeswoman of the president, Patrícia Medveľ Macíková, Pellegrini organized a memorial service already on Sunday for his foreign business trip, for which he leaves on Monday morning.
