PF opens investigation into murder at Guarulhos airport; What is known about the case?

The Federal Police opened a police investigation to investigate, in São Paulo (SP), one of the busiest sectors in the space.

The investigation will be carried out in an integrated manner with the São Paulo Civil Police and arises from the institution’s airport police function.

The victim, Antônio Vinícius Lopes Gritzbach, was being investigated for involvement with the First Command of the Capital (PCC).

At the beginning of the year, he had reached a plea agreement with the São Paulo Public Ministry to report crimes by the faction and even by police officers.

Who was Antônio Gritzbach?

Gritzbach was 38 years old and worked as a real estate agent in the eastern region of São Paulo. According to the São Paulo MP, he helped launder R$30 million from drug trafficking.

According to an investigation by Folha de S. Paulo, Gritzbach was also accused of being the mastermind of two men linked to the PCC, Anselmo Becheli Santa Fausta, known as Cara Preta, and Antônio Corona Neto, Sem Sangue.

According to the MPSP, Cara Preta was one of the most influential members of the PCC and was involved in international drug trafficking and other crimes. Without Blood would be his “right arm”.

Airport attack

According to investigations, Gritzbach was hit by 10 shots in the arrivals area of ​​Terminal 2 at Guarulhos airport (SP), around 4pm on Friday (8).

Security cameras record the attack by two hooded men, who were using a black vehicle. The pair fired at least 29 shots, authorities estimate.

Didn’t Gritzbach have an escort?

The São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office offered, through the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO), protection to Gritzbach, a cooperating defendant, and his family members.

However, says the MP, the businessman rejected the offer, claiming that he intended to continue his routine and continue managing his business.

To protect himself, Gritzbach hired four military police officers to provide his private escort. But the agents were not with the businessman at the time of the attack.

Prosecutors promise to follow the investigations and classify cases like this as intolerable, which challenge the State and society.
