Ten people were killed and seven others were injured Saturday when gunmen attacked a bar in the central Mexican city of Querétaro. This was stated by the local security authorities, reports TASR, referring to Sunday’s report by the AFP agency.
The gunmen opened fire v bare Los Cantaritos, said the head of the local public security office, Juan Luis Ferrusca. He added that according to the emergency services, they came to the bar at least four armed persons. Among the victims are three women, the local prosecutor’s office informed. One suspect has been detained, Ferrusca added the vehicle in which the gunmen arrived was found abandoned and set on fire.
Querétaro is located about 200 kilometers northwest of Mexico City and is known for its Spanish colonial architecture. In the country it belongs to safer cities. Mexican authorities have been trying to crack down for years violence in the country, which are mainly related to the activity of drug cartels.
