Interferences in South Korea’s GPS signals have been detected by authorities in that country. According to a statement from Seoul, the problems were being caused by North Korea, from its border cities Haeju and Kaesong.
The interference has been taking place since Friday (8) and mainly affects air and sea transport in South Korea. The South Korean army has instructed ships and planes operating in the Yellow Sea, which borders the two Koreas, to be on alert for possible attacks .
Decades-long crisis
Seoul authorities, in a statement, demanded that North Korea immediately cease provocations via GPS, stating that they will hold the country responsible for any problems that occur due to interference.

The two countries have been in permanent tension since the Korean War in the 1950s, dividing the region. Days ago, North Korea fired a missile, with South Korea also responding with a short-range ballistic missile.
