The governor (Republicans) has avoided commenting on his statement on Sunday (27), the day of voting in the second round, that the criminal faction had advised voting in ().
Tarcísio’s aides claim, behind the scenes, that the governor does not want to touch on the subject and that he was disappointed with the repercussion of the statement.
Accused by the opposition of acting in a way designed to benefit their candidate, the mayor (), Tarcísio argues among allies that he did not premeditate his speech, but merely responded to a question from the press.
State secretaries interviewed by the report minimize the episode from both political and legal aspects, arguing that it was a natural response and that the repercussion was exaggerated. They also deny that Tarcísio is avoiding the press, given that he gave interviews during the period.
Since the 27th, however, Tarcísio has given few interviews and has not met journalists even during the series of auctions, occasions that he usually uses as a showcase. This Tuesday (5), for example, there was no public agenda.
Questioned by the report through his press office this Tuesday, the governor did not comment on his speech about the PCC.

According to Tarcísio and the state Public Security Secretariat, police intelligence intercepted messages from the criminal faction that advised voting for Boulos. The deputy called the statement “a shame” and called for the ineligibility of Nunes and Tarcísio.
Experts in electoral law stated that the speech was serious enough for Tarcísio to be convicted of abuse of political power, making him ineligible for eight years.

On Tuesday (29), after the state championship, Tarcísio started the press interview with a comment about the concession, but left early, leaving only his secretaries to answer questions.
The following day, Wednesday (30), he repeated the strategy. After a , from Rota Sorocabana, the governor made a statement to the press, but left the questions to the secretaries.
On Thursday (31), Tarcísio met journalists, but was outside the capital. He spoke in the morning in Sorocaba, at the launch event for the expansion of the Toyota factory, and, later, in Brasília, after speaking with the president () on public security. In these interviews, he was not asked about the statement about the PCC.
On Friday (1st), the governor did the, but did not attend to the press at B3 — he went straight to the next appointment, a meeting with Nunes and store owners from Brás, after the . The duo met the press, but only responded regarding the measures in favor of the affected traders.
The governor was also at the opening of the 2nd Edition of SP Gastronomia and at the event on the CNBC channel, but did not meet journalists.
This Monday (4), Tarcísio participated in the fourth consecutive auction, again for . Once again, only their secretaries responded to journalists. During the night, he participated in a CNN Brasil event, but there was no press interview.
