The 27th edition of , held this weekend, was a milestone of solidarity and resilience, raising R$36 million for (AACD). This amount far exceeded the initial target of R$5 million, demonstrating the power of unity and social commitment towards a noble cause. Since its debut in 1998, the Telethon has been a crucial event for raising funds for the treatment of children with disabilities, and this year was no different, even with the absence of the iconic Silvio Santos. Her daughter, Silvia Bravanel, took on the role of host, highlighting the importance of continuous support to improve the quality of life of patients served by AACD.
AACD is an institution that carries out more than 800 thousand treatments annually, of which 80% are carried out through the Unified Health System (SUS). However, SUS only covers a small fraction of the total costs, making donations raised by Telethon vital for maintaining the services offered. Marcelo Ares, medical coordinator at AACD, emphasized the complexity of the work carried out by the institution, which requires constant investment and improvement to maintain the standard of care. He also highlighted the importance of society knowing and supporting the work of AACD, encouraging donations throughout the year.
The presenter of 3 em 1 represented Jovem Pan at the event. Cini expressed her honor in participating in the Telethon and highlighted the positive impact of AACD’s work on the lives of people with disabilities. He highlighted that the institution not only offers access to healthcare, but also promotes quality of life, allowing patients to live better alongside their families.
