The alleged perpetrator of the attack that left seven monks injured in the Gilet monastery arrested | Spain

A man has been arrested last morning as an alleged perpetrator of the congregation of the Holy Spirit of Monte de Gilet (Valencia), as reported by the Provincial Command of the Civil Guard. Investigation sources have reported that the man, 46 years old and of Spanish nationality, is detained at the Puçol post (Valencia), waiting to be brought to justice, expected tomorrow, Monday.

The attack occurred on Saturday morning, when the attacker entered the monastery grounds and reached the rooms of several religious, on one of the upper floors. As other religious witnesses to what happened have explained, the aggressor entered the rooms of the religious and attacked them with sticks and a bottle shouting “I am Jesus Christ and I am going to kill the friars.” One of the victims is in critical condition, another is in serious condition and five more were injured to various degrees, without any information regarding their hospital evolution yet being provided this Sunday.
