The photographer Mònica Torres, in the living room of her house on October 31, two days after the passage of the Dana.

On Tuesday, October 29, Madrid called around ten in the morning and asked for photos of the heavy rains in the province of Valencia. I experiment, talk to colleagues and decide to go to Turís. On the way, I see a truck full of water outside the road. There they tell us that the craziest thing is in Chiva. Going, . I arrive in Chiva on secondary roads and it is 11:30. I take photos. I’m going to Catadau. There are flooded houses. Then, on the way to mine, I notice that the ravines are full. I arrived home around three in the afternoon. I live in Picanya, in a townhouse, in front of the Poyo ravine. We go to the town bar and discuss what we have seen, whether it is planned to evict those who live near the ravine. And people make a bit of a joke: that the ravine does not overflow; that has never happened… There is an argument about who has seen it fuller, and we go home.
