In the Chamber of Deputies, deputy José Medeiros (PL-MT) had his economy class air ticket refunded, totaling R$6,300. In addition, he received R$11,200 for four and a half nights. Representative Mayra Pinheiro (PL-CE) was also present in the United States to monitor the elections, receiving R$12,500 in daily wages. In the Federal Senate, senator Laércio Oliveira (PP-SE) was the parliamentarian who received six daily allowances, totaling R$20,600, to be present in the American elections. Oliveira’s business class air ticket cost the public coffers R$34,400.
Deputies Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Bia Kicis (PL-DF) traveled to follow the American elections, but have not yet reported their expenses. All parliamentarians involved are supporters of President-elect Donald Trump. Information about expenses was revealed by the newspaper O Globo.
